Successful Launch of New Store Opening in Colchester Today

Today we attended the successful launch of new store opening in Colchester. A popular Scandinavian retailer has come to our very own Culver Centre. We couldn’t resist a sneak preview and patiently waited in line to have a look around in this beautiful old building with it’s warped post-war glass in the old sash-windows.

This has been a much anticipated opening of the rapidly expanding retailer Søstrene Grene and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The queues went all round the block, as hundreds of people waited eagerly to be the first to get into the new store.

The store is beautifully laid out and packed to the rafters which goods of all types, from weaving baskets to specialist liquorice, and home decor. There is plenty of choice here to suit everyone.

Saskia the Area manager for Store Openings confirmed Colchester is their 46th store to open. Last year alone Sostrene Grene opened 24 stores in the UK.

And the really exciting news is that they have found that often their competitors such as Oliver Bonas follow them and open new shops in the same location. So here is hoping that the new Sostrene Grene in Colchester leads to many other retailers choosing Colchester for their next new store opening.

We’ve already learnt that Sketchers are soon to open a new store in Culver Centre too which is another Big Win for us.
