MARKS & SPARK’S PIE

MARKS & SPARK’S PIE

A long, long, time ago

I can still remember how Marks shopping used to make me smile

I knew that if I took clothes back

That Marks would hang them on a rack

And maybe I could choose another style

But M&S  just made me shiver

With all the bad news they deliver

Stane Park down at Tollgate

Our town store closed – it’s too late

I can’t remember if I cried

Bye Bye Marks & Sparks
bye bye ms american pie

When I heard the news our town might die

But something touched me deep inside

The day Marks said “Good bye”

SO

Bye, bye, Marks & Spencer we tried

Now your closing

We’re proposing

You keep a Food Hall on site

That Facebook group tried to keep you alive

Singing Marks & Sparks you made us all cry

Marks & Sparks you made us all cry.

Our Facebook group just sings the Blues

They can’t hand out some happy news

A Food Hall seems so far away

I went down to my favourite store

Where I bought my first jeans years before

But the manager just said they wouldn’t stay

And in the streets the shopper’s screamed

No Percy Pigs!

No pies! No jeans!

Not a word was spoken

The shop tills all were broken

And the three men I admire the most

Marks & Spencer

And St.Michael’s Ghost

They caught the last bus

For wholemeal toast

The day our Marks just died

And we were singing

Bye, bye Marks & Spencer we tried, etc.
